Mandzukic pounced after just two minutes of the game to fire Juve into the lead.
Blaise Matuidi scored the decisive goal for the Italian champions after Mario Mandzukic’s opener was cancelled out by Gervinho. Juve’s class showed, when Matuidi fired into the roof of the net on the hour mark following a neat one-two with Mandzukic to secure the three points. Cristiano Ronaldo is still waiting for his first Serie A goal – but Juventus extended their perfect run to three games.
What had appeared likely to be a comfortable run out for Juve turned into anything but as Parma piled on the pressure, eventually getting their breakthrough before half-time when Gervinho tapped home. Ivory Coast forward Gervinho scored in between for Parma, his first goal since joining them in the close season. Gervinho levelled in the 33rd minute, turning the ball in with his knee after Roberto Inglese flicked on Massimo Gobbi’s cross. With both Jonathan Biabiany and Amato Ciciretti out, Gervinho was likely to get the nod for his first Parma start.
