Othman Boussaid from JMG to FC UTRECHT
Forward Othman Boussaid a JMG academician formed at Lierse continues his progression in the Eredivisie. The 20-year-old forward has played in 10 of FC UTRECHT 11 games, he has been on the starting line up four times in those games. He has a total of 342 minutes of play in the Division 1 of the Netherlands this season. He also added 90 minutes of play during a game with U21 FC Utrecht against his former club NAC Breda and to added up there are his 2 games with the Belgian National U21. He is the only new player invited by Jacky Mathijssen the coach of the U21 Red Devils team for the Euro. This invitation allows him to play with another JMG academician, the 21-year-old RCS Anderlecht striker Francis Amuzu who has already 8 games to his record in the National U21 selection.
The presence of Othman Boussaid in the Belgian U21 squad, led by former goalkeeper Jacky Mathijssen, coach of the Red Devils U21 team, is without surprise. The two had worked together during Euro U19 in 2018-19, Othman as a starter had scored 2 goals and 1 assist for Belgium.
We remember that in the summer of 2015 when the JMG academy in Lierse came to Quebec for nearly a month to do their pre-season preparation, he and his teammates impressed us with their technical skills individually but also collectively. Othman small in size but immense on the field had captured the hearts of everyone during the confrontation of the Belgian U15 with several local teams including the Impact academy and even a few games against teams made up of senior players.
Good continuation Othman and the best is yet to come
