
Olympique Lyonnais is pleased to announce the arrival of the young Belgian international central defender (8 caps), Jason Denayer, of Manchester City, trained at the JMG academy in Lierse. Jason Denayer has just signed a four-year contract with Olympique Lyonnais from France. Transfer fee would be around €10 million with an additional €3.5m in add-ons
Lyon’s head of scouting, Florian Maurice,: “Jason is a player who we have been watching for the last three seasons now. He has all the characteristics we’re looking for under Bruno [Genesio, the coach]: versatility, as he is capable of playing in every position on defence, [as well as] intelligence, placement, quickness and winning battles.”
Jason signed his first contract at Manchester City in 2013, then a 5 year contract in 2015. He was then loaned to Celtic of Glasgow in the 2014-2015 season where he was Scottish champion before and was named the Scottish Premiership Young Player of the Year in 2014-15 . Continuing to Galatasaray, then on loan to Sunderland and again back to Galatasaray the last season where he won the title of champion of Turkey. This will be a great challenge for him in the French LIGUE 1
He has 92 league games (5 goals) and 13 in the European Cup, including 5 in the Champions League with Galatasaray and Glasgow Celtic.
